Hot Spiced Cider

This traditional holiday drink is perfect
on cold winter evenings

3 quarts apple cider
8 whole cloves
3 cinnamon sticks
Small pinch of ground nutmeg
2 (1-inch) strips fresh orange peel

You can also add a splash of rum or brandy.
You may want a fresh cinnamon stick for each serving.

In a large saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil.
Strain and serve hot spiced cider hot in mugs.
We also like to place a cinnamon stick and an orange peel with the mug or glass.
Makes 12 cups of hot spiced cider.
