Jello Salad - Tradition or Tragedy?

Ah, the Jello Salad.
When was the last time you actually ate this once popular item from, let's say, 1965?
Back then, the jiggly salad made an appearance at almost every food event, but now, how many people do you know that actually bring a Jello salad to a party?
How many people even know what a Jello salad is anymore?
We are guessing, no one under 65.
We aren't talking about Jello with fruit, we can tolerate that.
We are talking about the jello salad that was once a potluck favorite, with things like: cottage cheese, pretzels, crushed pineapple, sliced pimentos, carrots, cucumbers, marshmallows. miracle whip, green olives, walnuts, tomatoes, poured into a mold, hardened and served at bridge clubs, picnics, Christmas, Thanksgiving, weddings, funerals, birthdays, and church potluck dinners.
(more like good luck)
There was a time when people believed that the Jello salad was a big sensation, but we aren't those people.
We also know, someone, somewhere still owns a Jello mold and makes these concocted salads, but we find them unnerving, we even believe that jello in the picture is giving us the evil eye.
