FOX - two more years of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been offered two more years (seasons the nine and ten) of ‘Hell’s Kitchen.’
If you are a fan of the show like we are then FOX ‘s announcement regarding Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen should make you very happy.

This show does well, no matter where FOX places it into its lineup.
Hell’s Kitchen  performs well in the all important 18-49 demographic.
Last season the show pulled in over 6 million viewers.

This year the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant will be getting a face lift.
There will be balcony seating and a guest table over the pass. (where Chef Ramsay checks the food)

If you have watched Ramsay over the years, dumping the risotto, you know he is a professional who has been the ring master of six simultaneously airing television programs and 25 restaurants.
yes, we know he has had business a tax issues, but it's his kind of dedication and work ethic that impresses us more.

Anyway, season nine of Hell’s Kitchen will air sometime in the summer of 2011.

Keeping Up With Gordon Ramsay

Chef Gordon Ramsay is in a bit of a mess with the IRS according to court documents.
Chef Ramsay has two outstanding tax warrants against him, and after what must have seemed like a very long year for Ramsay, he has two tax liens against him in New York State that together total close to a million dollars!
The first warrant was filed against Ramsay in July for $513,003, then another was filed last month for $419,051, totaling $932,054.
Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants have had financial difficulties for the past two years, let's face it, people have stopped eating out as much because of personal finances.
Ramsay sold his flagship restaurant in New York, The Gordon Ramsay at The London, but is still a consultant for the restaurant.

Beside his financial problems, Chef Ramsay has this family matter with his father-in-law.
He fired his father-in-law in a nasty family war, and then there is his alleged mistress Sarah Symonds, writing  an open letter to Gordon’s wife, Tana, telling her to “stand up” for herself.
In the letter, Symonds writes:
“I write to you here today with all good intentions, because after reading–along with the rest of the world–all that is being said about you by Gordon, and by your father, I really feel for you.
“I mean, it cannot be easy for a woman like you to be perceived by both of them as SO weak, and so easy to manipulate.”
Gordon has denied his affair with Symonds, and is still with his wife, Tana.

And then there's this: even though there is money concerns, Ramsay has reportedly paid  $60,000 on a hair transplant.
Gordon, visited a  Los Angeles clinic for 12 hours at a having follicles removed from the bushier patches of his scalp and transplaned where his hairline is thinning.
“While his hair may not have been obviously receding, it had become an issue for him,” a source said.
“Some will call it vanity — but to TV producers and Gordon it’s a pre-emptive action to stop him suddenly going on TV with obvious thinning.
“It’s better to act now than have countless pictures and comment scrutinizing his hairline in years to come.”
In order to maintain his youthfulness, Ramsay has previously recieved Botox injections to flatten out his wrinkly chin (photo below) on the advice of Simon Cowell.

We like Gordon Ramsay and we know some of this stuff is tabloid, but it's still the life and times of Gordon, so, we talk about it.

We sincerely hope that somehow this new year is a better one for him, on all fronts.

Joseph Cerniglia, the suicide chef, had a fondness for the pastry chef

Joseph Cerniglia, the suicide chef had a fondness for the taste of pastry, actually it was his pastry chef he had a fondness for.

The 39-year-old chef had been in a romance with Jessica Marotta (above photo), his pastry chef, before he took the fatal leap.

"They loved each other very much," said the pastry chef's mom, Ana Marotta.
"My daughter is devastated," Ana said about her daughter Jessica, she went from waitress to co-owner of Cerniglia's Campania restaurant.

Many people wanted to blame Gordon Ramsay for the suicide of Joe Cerniglia but it appears those people are dead wrong.

It seems that Joe Cerniglia was having an extra marital affair with Jessica Marotta, and it was that affair that eventually destroyed his marriage with his wife.

Because of all this, perhaps the name of Jessica Marotta seems to be an important factor in Joe Cerniglia's suicide and not Gordon Ramsay's.

It was Gordan Ramsay in a 2007 that warned Joseph that his restaurant was "about to swim down the Hudson."
As it turned out it was Joesph who was floating down the Hudson instead.

Body Pulled From Hudson River - Chef Featured On "Kitchen Nightmares"

Joseph Cerniglia, owner of Campania restaurant who we watched on Kitchen Nightmares in 2007 was found dead on Friday as his body was discovered found floating in the Hudson River.

According to police, officials are looking at the possible connection to a report of a man jumping from the George Washington Bridge earlier that day.
It was reported that on Sunday that a 911 caller had reported seeing a body floating in the river shortly after 2 p.m.
Police said at 12:50 p.m., a different 911 caller had reported seeing a man jump from the bridge.

Campania was featured on Kitchen Nightmares, and after the show was televised, Joseph Cerniglia said  “We were very busy, but I couldn’t seem to make a profit. We kept getting deeper and deeper into debt. Our food costs were high, and we couldn’t get our labor costs under control.” in regards to his decision to be on the hit series. He went on to say “Let’s just say I got to see the softer, more nurturing side of Gordon Ramsay.”
So it's unclear why Joseph would want to commit suicide if that is even what he did?
If we learn any more details, we'll pass them along.

Here's an eerie look back at Joseph on Kitchen Nighmares:

Gordon Ramsay has struck a lucrative deal

Gordon Ramsay has struck a lucrative deal that will earn the chef millions of dollars.
British production giant All3Media has announced a $60 million deal to acquire U.K. independent producer Optomen, which includes One Potato Two Potato -- the 50/50 joint production venture shared by Optomen and Gordon Ramsay,  responsible for such shows such as "The F Word" and "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares."

Ramsay will now be able to increase his visability in the United States and benefit from bigger distribution and licensing operations.

"I'm very happy to be joining All3Media and look forward to growing One Potato Two Potato in the U.K. and in America," said Ramsay, who has become one of the most recognizable faces of television on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to such shows as "Hell's Kitchen" and "Masterchef."

"Twenty years of working in kitchens has taught me that success is always a team effort, and with the help of the team at All3Media I'm confident we can take things to the next level and soon reach three potato, four potato and more."

Gordon Ramsay and Croissants

Can this be true, Gordon Ramsay has trouble with croissants?
Ramsay says the French breakfast croissant is the most difficult thing he has ever tried to make.
“I lived in Paris for three years and had the most amazing time there,” says Gordon. “I got my a*** kicked across some of the best restaurants anywhere in the world and I had massive issues with making croissants."
“It sounds a little bit silly but honestly, the way they roll those croissants is hard. Actually only 10 per cent of patisseries in Paris actually make their own croissants and I think it is so sad."
“But two years ago with the F Word I got the chance to go back to Paris and make the perfect croissant and I was so proud of it I took a picture of it, took it home, dipped it in gelatine and froze it. Now it is at home in my freezer.”

Here's a great video all about croissants, from the talented people at http://www.videojug.com/

Masterchef with Gordon Ramsay

If American Idol and Top chef had a baby, Fox's latest reality cooking show, Masterchef might be the outcome.
American amateur cooks are here competing for $250,000 prize and a chance to publish their very own cookbook.

Three celebrity judges: Joe Bastianich (owner of 20 of America's best restaurants"), Graham Eliot Bowles ("America's youngest four-star chef") and of course, head judge Gordon Ramsay.

In case you haven't watched or know next to nothing about it, here's a little peek.

Hell's Kitchen - And The Winner Is?

When the final dinner service on the season seven finale of Hell’s Kitchen came to an end, both teams managed tocomplete all of their dishes on time.
But there would only be one winner, as Chef Ramsay went through all the comments cards he made his decision.
After being counted down by Gordon Ramsay, the chef whose door opened and who would become the new executive chef of The Savoy restaurant in London is Holli.
We thought this might be the case as we mentioned on Facebook, she was throwing a party tonight, only the winner would do have reason to celebrate like that.
So, congratulations to Holli and all the best to Jay, you were great!

Season Eight of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX premieres on Wed, 9/22 at 8 pm EST,
Don't forget about Gordon Ramsay’s new show MasterChef  Tue, at 9 pm EST!

Gordon Ramsay's own Kitchen Nightmares

Chef Gordon Ramsay has been hit again with tax troubles with a demand for more than $2 million in unpaid taxes.

U.S. authorities have sent the British chef's firm three outstanding tax bills over the last eight months. The most recent demand, sent last month, was for $484,500.

A spokesperson for Gordon Ramsay Holdings confirms the taxes are not the reality TV star's personal liabilities.

The spokesperson says, "This relates specifically to a restaurant operation in New York which has been restructured. Conversations are in hand with U.S. authorities to settle outstanding corporate liabilities."

That may be true but Ramsay is at risk of having his restaurants and assets seized and he may eventually have to spend his own money to meet the demands.

To make matters worse, tax officers could seize the business if they are not satisfied with repayment plans. Then if sales of assets still don't cover the bills, Ramsay could be liable.

This comes on the heels of Ramsay's Cape Town restaurant shut down last week.

Ramsay has also been repeatedly hit with lawsuits over unpaid bills, feeding rumors that his business empire may be in trouble.

Kitchen Nightmares - Season 3

We have been a little critical of Gordon Ramsay lately, mainly because we felt he deserved it.
In fact, we questioned his ability to do another season of Kitchen Nightmares because of his own restaurant problems.
But we've been watching season 3 and we have to admit it's fun to see Gordon Ramsay in action again.

Gordon Ramsay slices his finger on Ellen Degeneres

Chef Gordon Ramsay sliced off his nail during an appearance on Ellen Degeneres' talk show.
The odd thing here was, Gordon was showing Ellen how to use caution slicing vegetables.
When he lost focus, he cut himself, with blood dripping from the deep cut on his finger.
Laughing off the mishap, Ramsay said, "I wasn't concentrating. I haven't cut myself this big in 10 years! (I cut my finger) under the nail. I took the nail off."

Gordon Ramsay criticized for being disrespectful

Gordon has done it again.
He has been criticized for being disrespectful, this time, towards Indians.
We watched the curry cooking competition and the search for ant chutney in his Great Escape where used a few obscenities, but what would you expect?

More than 100 viewers complained to Channel 4 about his behavior during the three-part series.
The program shows Ramsay visiting different parts of India to learn their traditional cooking methods.
Viewers got upset when Gordon Ramsay described an Indian guru as ‘Father Christmas’ and repeatedly used obscenities when speaking to locals.
Ramsay, says he has never to have eaten a dish without meat, made fun of a guru's belief in vegetarian food, saying: "When I first saw him I thought he was Father Christmas. But I don't dig all the stuff about the food. I respect carrots, fine, but they're not living to keep us happy."

He told a tree climber in Kerala: 'You little fu*ker, making me look like a t***.'
Channel 4 said it had warned viewers about the chef's language.
"Gordon is a passionate character and viewers know what to expect when watching his programs. The series was broadcast after the watershed and each episode was preceded by a clear language warning," a Channel 4 spokeswoman said.

Fox's Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Train Wreck

We had been looking forward to Ramsay: Cookalong Live on Fox, but it was a train wreck with many casualties.
We had hoped Gordon Ramsay would have a show about food, we would cook along, maybe learn a thing or two, and it would be a fun night.
Boy, were we wrong!
He brings in "special guests." (always a bad omen) That's right, celebrities no one cares about,  like LeAnn Rimes, Cedric the Entertainer, and Alyson Hannigan.
It was clear from the start, (watch the video) the cookalong was going to be a talk/variety show,
(an embarrassing one at that) and the food was treated like a prop.
With only 4 million viewers the proof was in the pudding, no one was really interested.
Sorry, but Gordon Ramsay's cookalong was a disaster.
Too bad, it was an opportunity, turned into a train wreck.

Gordon Ramsay and Milk Money

Chef Gordon Ramsay has another issue to deal with, Dairyland USA has filed a lawsuit against Ramsay because they say his New York City restaurant failed to pay a food bill.
With his own Kitchen Nightmares becoming a reality, Gordon Ramsay aparently owes $101,000 to Dairyland USA for an outstanding order given to his Manhattan restaurant on Thanksgiving Day.
We can't help but wonder how Chef Ramsay can offer another season of advice on Kitchen Nightmares, with a straight face?
For Ramsay, this must be especially embarrassing because Kitchen Nightmares features him as a savior of other people’s restaurants.
“It’s not great if you’re making a show called Kitchen Nightmares and advising people on how to fix their businesses for you to go bankrupt,” says Pat Llewellyn, producer of the program and Ramsay’s partner in a production company called One Potato Two Potato.
