Hell’s Kitchen chef Keith Greene drowned

Another Hell’s Kitchen chef is dead.
Keith S. Greene, a chef and contestant on Hell’s Kitchen, died from drowning.
He was 35, and married and had children ages 2 and 1.

His body “was discovered by a couple walking along the shore near Wyandanch Lane Beach” in the Hamptons. In a later story, the paper reported that two hours before his body was discovered, he “told a police officer he was OK, just swimming and hanging out in the water.”

Keith, whose nickname was K-Grease, placed third in the second season of the Fox show.

Hell's Kitchen Season 9

So, Hell's Kitchen is over, we congratulate Paul (above photo) for winning the job at Manhattan's BLT Steak.

He beat out Will Lustberg (photo below) of Jersey City, N.J., for the Job, but some could be argued that all the award for big mouth, smack talking, goes to Elise Wims.

Ramsay allowed her keep her chef's jacket, when he eliminated her. "You're Teflon. Well done," he told her, even as she was on the verge of tears. "Keep your jacket. You deserve it."
He also told Elise what all of us wanted to tell her, "Just stop being such a bitch!"

Hell's Kitchen s always fun, but this year, we had difficulty staying interested.
Maybe people will disagree about who should have won, Paul or Will, but the real question for us, is why Elsie (photos below) was kept around for as long as she was.

Could it be her tremendous talent or because of all the drama she caused, which unfortunately equals ratings these days.

We know ratings are practically everything to the networks, but credibility has it's place too. Did Ramsay really think Elsie deserved to be around for do long? We hope not.

We have never seen anyone go on the chopping block as many times as Elise and lasted until the very end.

We really believe the producers kept her on for ratings, they knew people would watch to see when she was going to be kicked off.

But we think she lowered the bar for the show, and for us Hell's Kitchen lost some credibility.

Of course, we will continue to watch the show, but perhaps for it's entertainment fun and not for any culinary value.

FOX - two more years of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay has been offered two more years (seasons the nine and ten) of ‘Hell’s Kitchen.’
If you are a fan of the show like we are then FOX ‘s announcement regarding Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen should make you very happy.

This show does well, no matter where FOX places it into its lineup.
Hell’s Kitchen  performs well in the all important 18-49 demographic.
Last season the show pulled in over 6 million viewers.

This year the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant will be getting a face lift.
There will be balcony seating and a guest table over the pass. (where Chef Ramsay checks the food)

If you have watched Ramsay over the years, dumping the risotto, you know he is a professional who has been the ring master of six simultaneously airing television programs and 25 restaurants.
yes, we know he has had business a tax issues, but it's his kind of dedication and work ethic that impresses us more.

Anyway, season nine of Hell’s Kitchen will air sometime in the summer of 2011.

Hell's Kitchen - and the winner is?

After it was all said and done, Russell and Nona head upstairs,Chef Ramsay tells them he has made a decision.
The decision was  based on both comments from the diners of each kitchen and what he observed during the kitchen during service.
They placed their hands on the handles and on the count of three and we were delighted to see Nona’s door open.
We thought the talent this season was weak but regardless, we really didn't want Russell to win.
His obnoxious, self centered attitude was more than we could stomach.
His doom became very evident during the service when he lost control over his kitchen and over himself.

Not the good loser, he blamed everyone except himself:
“I'm pissed,” Russell said after Nona was named the winner. “I'm not happy at all.
I chose the team that I wanted and I thought they would help me win.
In fact, they helped me lose. So thanks a lot, guys.”
“You will never get a job in any city I work,” he threatened. “I’m going to definitely blackball you, because you guys f---ed me so royally tonight.”

Wow, Russel must be a very influential sous chef in Chicago.

Congratulations to Nona

Hell's Kitchen - And The Winner Is?

When the final dinner service on the season seven finale of Hell’s Kitchen came to an end, both teams managed tocomplete all of their dishes on time.
But there would only be one winner, as Chef Ramsay went through all the comments cards he made his decision.
After being counted down by Gordon Ramsay, the chef whose door opened and who would become the new executive chef of The Savoy restaurant in London is Holli.
We thought this might be the case as we mentioned on Facebook, she was throwing a party tonight, only the winner would do have reason to celebrate like that.
So, congratulations to Holli and all the best to Jay, you were great!

Season Eight of Hell’s Kitchen on FOX premieres on Wed, 9/22 at 8 pm EST,
Don't forget about Gordon Ramsay’s new show MasterChef  Tue, at 9 pm EST!

Hell's Kitchen - And Then There Were Two

After Benjamin cried like a little school girl about his back, complaining, “I can’t even lean over,” and then watching him lean over, we were happy to see him go.

Then there was Autumn trying desperately to hold on, “I need everyone to say Yes, Chef!" while reminding us,  “Chef Ramsay hates laughing.”
We were pleased to see her go as well.

So it's down to Holli and Jay.
We like Holli but we thought Jay was the strongest and most promising from the beginning, we may have lit a voodoo candle on his behalf back then, it's hard to recall. Regardless, Jay looks unstoppable right now, but it's the old chefs coming back that give us cause for concern, they have an amazing talent for screwing things up.

Chef Jason Santos on Hell's Kitchen

As a blue hair contestant on Hell's Kitchen you just know Chef Jason Santos likes adventure.
He prepares a liquid nitrogen salsa that smolders when it hits the plate and a orange gel that forms into noodles when it hits hot broth.
This is Chef Jason Santos.
The food preparations of Santos’dishes are called fun and inventive, and his customers keep coming back.  Jason’s cuisine blends Asian, French and traditional American flavors with lots of visuals and textural surprises  diners at Gargoyles in Davis Square.
Santos likes to challenge diners with various flavosr and texture combinations. “You have to systematically create complexity,” he says of his thought process. “It sets creativity free."
He teaches culinary courses at both Boston University and Cambridge Rindge and Latin’s culinary programs. He also appeared to a sold-out crowd at the James Beard House in 2005 and was invited to the Star Chefs Molecular Gastronomy conference in 2007.

So, with all this talent how can Santos miss top spot on “Hell’s Kitchen” when the new season begins June 1, 2010?

We'll see!

Hells Kitchen - Season 6 - The gloves and aprons are off

They are taking off the gloves and aprons and dropping the F word on Hells Kitchen, season 6.

In the July 21 sixth season premiere an ex-Marine contestant asks Gordon Ramsay to step outside.
Joseph has conflicts with Ramsay from the begining, refusing to eat an undercooked vegetable without a fork "I'm not an animal"
But after performing as one of the best players on the men's team, Joseph freaks out when Ramsay makes his usual simple request to name two of his teammates for elimination. Contestants have stood up to Ramsay's before, but not like this.
Joseph threatened to walk out of the competition by confronting Ramsay.

This season's winner will win a position as head chef at Araxi Restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia.
