Mother, Son hospitalized after eating "Death Angel" mushrooms

A mother and son team remain hospitalized after they ate poisonous mushrooms.
The woman and her adult son ate mushroom that are called "death angel" in a meal.
We thought most people understood the risks and dangers eating wild mushrooms, which can cause liver and kidney damage, and occasionally death, but we were mistaken.
Authorities said, "The message we want to send is that the mushrooms in your backyard can be very pretty, but also very deadly. Don't eat them."
The Death Angel can be deadly and it accounts for more than 90 percent of all reported wild mushroom fatalities, even many mushroom experts avoid them.

So here's our deadly mushroom tips:

  • If you want to remove wild mushrooms from your garden, do so with a shovel and a bag, then wash your hands thoroughly to prevent any accidental hand-mouth contact or ingestion. (wearing garden gloves is an idea)
  •  Second tip, don't cook and eat them, regardless how organic they may appear.
