Halloween Worms

It's time to squeal with disgust at the sight of a big bowl of these Halloween worms.
To make this easier,  use a tall, slim container to hold the straws, something like an orange juice or milk carton, one that has a 4 cup capacity.
The straws should fit tightly together. If the container is too large, the gelatin will drain out before it sets.
Use the straws with the flexible neck, they give it a earthworm feel.
This recipe makes about 100 worms.

Ingredients:
1 package or 6 ounces of purple gelatin, raspberry is our favorite.
3/4 ounce unflavored gelatin
3 cup boiling water
3/4 cup. whipping cream
green food coloring, as needed
100 plastic straws

1. In a medium, heat safe mixing bowl, stir together plain and flavored gelatin powders.
2. Pour boiling water over, stirring until gelatin is fully dissolved.
3. Allow gelatin to cool until it's only slightly warm.
4. Stir whipping cream into the gelatin mixture. Stir in green food coloring, around 10 drops or  until your gelatin gets that worm look.
5. With your 100 straws fully extended and snug in your carton, pour the gelatin mixture over the straws, filling the container.
6. Cover container and chill at least 8 hours.
7. Remove straws from their container by cutting your disposable container away.
8. With hot tap water running, place batches of 4-5 straws under hot running water for just a few seconds.
9. Remove "worms" from their straw casings, pressing with fingers. Set on waxed paper.
10. Get all the worms released.
12. Chill, covered, on waxed paper at least 2 hours.
