Christmas Pecans

We know that roasting chestnuts is popular in a Christmas song, but roasted pecans tastes a whole lot better and easy to make.
Use your favorite seasoning combination, along with butter, to make this easy pecan snack.

The simple recipe is this:

1 stick of butter, melted
4 cups pecan halves
1 teaspoon seasoning blend with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.

If you want it candied, add a 1/2 cup of sugar to the mix.
If you want it spicy, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Some people even roast cashews along with the pecans, it's all up to you.
Combine butter and pecans in a large shallow roasting pan. Roast in a preheated 325° oven for 15 minutes, stirring from time to time. Sprinkle with the seasoning and toast and occasionally stir for another15 minutes.

Allow to cool.

These make great party snacks or as gifts, in a tin or maybe wrapped in colored cellophane tied with bows and placed in mugs.
