Police we're called to a McDonald's in Rome,Ga. because a man was dressed as the Burger King.

Police say that the Burger King danced, handed out free hamburgers to customers, and stopped to take pictures with several children.

One child ran away from the King in fear.

The McDonald’s manager told authorities she had approached the King before calling police. When asked what he was doing, his Excellency told the manager he was collecting money for charity.

The manager told the police that at no time did his Magisty collect money while inside the McDonald’s.

Burger King employees fired after the lettuce photo is shared online

Three Ohio Burger King employees were fired after a photo of one of them standing on two open bins of the restaurant's lettuce appeared online.

Burger King released a statement saying the workers at the Mayfield Heights store were fired after the picture was posted.

"Burger King Corp. has recently been made aware of a photo posted on a social networking site that allegedly shows a Burger King restaurant employee violating the company's stringent food handling procedures," the statement read.
"Food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question."

"The restaurant where this photo was allegedly taken is independently-owned and operated by a Burger King franchisee. The franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and terminated the three employees involved in this incident," the company said.

'Why don't you just go eat at McDonald's, you plank?' Burger King manager tells customer

Charlotte Chamberlain (above photo) received a rude email after complaining about her food at Burger King.
When Charlotte complained about the Burger King staff using a microwave to heat her food she received the following Email:

The email, apparently from the customer services department, called Charlotte Chamberlain a ‘plank’ and suggested that maybe she should go to McDonald’s.

Charlotte and a friend were disappointed to find the burgers they had ordered were put into a microwave. They complained and wanted a refund before leaving the store in Corby, Northamptonshire.
She later made a formal complaint to Burger King. She was shocked when she receive the email, which read: ‘Message from the King. If you want cold food you only have to ask, you plank. In future could you please go to Macs. Ha Ha Ha.’
Charlotte said: ‘I was absolutely stunned, shocked. I couldn’t believe a big company could treat a customer like this."

The email was one of around 15 sent by the former owner of the Corby franchise who somehow hacked his way into the Burger King customer service email, writing nasty little responses.

Burger King has since apologized to Miss Chamberlain and provided vouchers for free meals.
A spokesman said: ‘A former franchisee is no longer connected to Burger King UK Ltd.
‘His actions are in no way representative of the views of Burger King and our quality of customer care. As soon as we discovered he had unauthorised access to our email system, we immediately blocked his access and are investigating the matter internally. We sincerely apologise for any offence caused to our customers.’
Burger King confirmed staff are required to microwave flame-grilled burgers before they are served as ‘a standard quality measure’ to ensure they are safe and hygienic.
‘If a customer would rather their sandwich is not put in the microwave, they are free to request this,’ the spokesman said.

What is a plank?
As an insult, it means you're stupid or a moron.

Down with the King

Burger King has overthrown the weird, yes, creepy "King."
The Burger King people have decided instead to focus on food. (Imagine that?)
Could it be the struggling fast-food restaurant's new advertising campaign to feature fresh ingredients rather than the King's strangeness is a sign of the times?

Burger King plans to roll out its new, guacamole-filled California Whopper burger nationwide.

The advertisements will feature lush images of avocados, tomatoes, lettuce and beef.
But just when we thought the King was banished forever, Burger King says,“That’s not to say that in the future, we don’t introduce him in some other form, but our new marketing approach is more food-centric.”

Let's face it. the King has played second fiddle to Ronald McDonald who earned $1.4 billion in net income in its second quarter, a 15% increase year over year. Burger King’s net income slipped 13% in its second quarter to $42.8 million.

But let's take a little look at some of the Kings moments...

King of the flies

There were so many flies at a Burger King, inspectors wouldn’t open their mouths.
That's right, a Burger King on Chicago's South Side has been closed after inspectors found so many insects flying around that they were “afraid to open their mouths.
Hundreds of flying insects were found throughout the Burger King.
They were on the walls, the ceilings, the shelves intended for clean dishes, around the sink, in the food storage area, in a dry storage area, on the tubing of boxes of soft drink syrup, and in front of the drive-up window.

And if that wasn't enough, a wasp nest was also found just over the rear door.

“Pest control was woefully inadequate and poor housekeeping fueled the infestation of flying insects at the Burger King near 95th and Ashland,” Josie Cruz, deputy commissioner of Street & Sanitation’s Bureau of Rodent Control, said. “We closed this location for the critical violation of inadequate pest control and they won’t be allowed to reopen until they clean and pest-proof their restaurant, revamp their pest control and housekeeping plans, and then pass a tough re-inspection.”

It looks like this Burger King is Lord of the flies.

The Burger King Bikini Brawl

Panama City Beach is where a cell phone camera captured the action in a Burger King Saturday, as a crowd of tourists rioted.

Employees dialed 9-1-1 for help, as one bikini woman, identified as Kimesia Smith of Montgomery, Ala., jumped up on the counter and threw a charity coin jug at employees, and 3 of Smith's friends also began throwing napkins, utensils, and trays throughout the location.
We are as sick and tired of these losers as you are, but we want to remind people of the kind of world we live in because it inspires us to not be one of them.

According to a Panama City Beach Police Department report, Smith tried to pull away after being handcuffed. “Take your damn hands off me, you can’t touch me,” said Smith. While in custody, she “continued screaming and yelling” at a cop and a Burger King employee who identified her for officers.
In an interview, Smith said that the confrontation began after she complained to workers about the tardy delivery of the Whopper Jr. and french fries she had ordered. She recalled exclaiming loudly, “Damn, these folks are slow.”
After waiting 20 minutes for the items, Smith said she flung the bag of food at workers with whom she had quarreled. Smith also copped to, among other things, throwing another customer’s drink at wokers, pulling the manager’s hair, and throwing the coin jug.
“We tore the Burger King up,” she remarked. “I don’t play no games.”

Burger King boss Bernardo Hees insults British women and food

Burger king's chief executive, Bernardo Hees, (photo below, not above) insulted British women and it's food.
The Burger King has had to apologize after he told a group of American students that British women were unattractive and that English food was "terrible".

King Bernardo recalled his younger days at the University of Warwick, saying that there were few distractions to put him off his studies. "The food is terrible and the women are not very attractive." At that poit he decided to put on real charm by telling his audience in Chicago. "Here in Chicago, the food is good and you are known for your good-looking women."

Hees's remark,  has pissed off both female students and British chefs.

"If he views women as potential distractions in academia, I wonder how he views them in the workplace?" asked Charli Fritzner, women's campaigns officer at Warwick University's student union. "It doesn't make Burger King an attractive employer for women."

Michelin-starred English chef Marcus Wareing, said criticism of Britain's food was rich coming from the man responsible for serving up flame-grilled Whoppers and bacon double cheeseburgers. "It's an insult to British gastronomy," said Wareing.

Burger King said its chief executive regretted his remarks on Britain: "Mr Hees apologizes if his comment has offended anyone. It... was intended as a humorous anecdote to connect with his audience."

Woman Attacks Burger King Employees

It's happened again, it's happening still, it's the same old story and it's getting very familiar.
This angry woman starts a fight with Burger Kings employees after she didn't get her order the way she wanted it.
The lovely Tara Lyons, 38, (above mug shot) was arrested and charged with assault and battery and burglary after she climbed over the counter at an Burger King and started throwing breakfast sandwiches and condiments at employees.
She was pissed off after spending $1.06 for a breakfast sandwich, at the drive thru, because she thought someone had spit in her sandwich.

No one seems to know why Lyons thought someone spit in her food, but she suffered a laceration over her face after being pushed off the counter.
After that, Lyons left only to come back into the store, climb over the counter and grab a cup of scalding water.
She then chased several cooks out the back of the store, some of the employees locked themselves in rooms, and the cooks had took refuge on the bus.

It's the Pizza Burger at Burger King

Step right up and ready yourself for Burger King's Pizza Burger with more than 2,500 delicious calories.

The unveiling will take place at King's Whopper Bar in Times Square, New York, next month.

The goodness begins with beef and a 9.5-inch sesame bun, topped with pepperoni, mozzarella, Tuscan pesto and marinara sauce.

It also comes in six slices, just like a pizza.

It has been called the "fat bomb" because, for $13 (£8.40), you get to enjoy 2,520 calories, the recommended daily intake is 2,500 calories for men and 2,000 for women, but we don't pay much attention to that.

One Pizza Burger contains 144g of fat - 59g of which is saturated, so we consider it kind of a health food.
John Schaufelberger, Burger King's vice president of global marketing, insisted the Pizza Burger is "intended to be shared" (yeah right).

Burger King Sued Over Spit

What is it with spit and fast food employees these days?
It took the crime lab and a DNA analysis of a burger – to prove that a burger King worker spit and possibly wiped his ass on a deputy's burger.

It was on this unfortunate night that 22-year-old Gary Herb was the cooking burgers, a man with a criminal past.

The Deputy watched another fast-food worker hand him the bag in a way that made him suspitious. So he cracked open the burger beforetaking a bite.
That's when he found human spit and saliva, not ruling out feces, on the deputy's burger.

Frustrated by Burger King's hampering of the investigation, Deputy Bylsma now is suing the restaurant chain. He's also suing Kaizen Foods, which reportedly owns the restaurants in the Northwest. We're told the deputy hopes the suit will change Burger King's hiring and supervision policies, and seeks unspecified damages.

Said the deputy's attorney, Anne Bremner: "When the deputy asked for changes, for an apology, for any kind of assurance that this wouldn't happen again, that just hasn't been forthcoming."

A statement from Burger King said that "food safety is non-negotiable at Burger King restaurants. There are strict policies and procedures regarding food handling ... The employees involved in this incident violated these strict procedures and have been terminated by the franchise owner. The company regrets this incident.‪"

However, the deputy's attorney said the restaurant still isn't doing criminal background checks on the people it hires.

One of the fired workers, who handed the officer the burger, is rumored to have hepatitis and he too, has a criminal record
However, Burger King nor the employee have responded to requests for hepatitis testing. That's one more reason the deputy is filing suit for hampering.

Gary Herb, had been working at Burger King for a a year, just imagine how much spit has gone through the to go window.

Two Burger King employees arrested for putting painkiller In food

JACKSONVILLE, Florida:
Ernest McHenry says he ordered a fish sandwich from Burger King and found a pill inside.
The pill was identified as the painkiller hydrocodone.
(somewhere in that mess of a sandwich you can see the pill)
Ernest found it as he was putting salt and pepper on his sandwich.
Tomeria Kendrick and her mother visited the Burger King, bought a chicken sandwich at the drive-thru. Kendrick took one bite and immediately spit it out.
Inside the sandwich, she told police she found a pill.
Her mother took her to the local Fire Station; once she was cleared, she went back to Burger King , sandwich and pill in hand.
But another customer was not so lucky.
Police said a 21-year-old who went through the drive-through at the same Burger King ended up getting sick after one bite.
According to police, she went back to the restaurant and called police, she had a seizure and had to be taken to a hospital.
As a result of all this, two employees have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Woody Duclos, has been charged with poisoning food, with intent to kill or injure a person.
His co-worker buddy, Bryant Jones, has also been charged after he admitted selling the pills to Duclos.
(In the photo below, Woody on the left, Bryant on the right)

The district manager told police that Duclos was recently suspended for misconduct, and she believes "he did this because he was disgruntled and angry at the business."
Burger King issued this statement Tuesday following the arrests of two of its employees:
"Food safety is non-negotiable at BURGER KING® restaurants. This franchise restaurant, which is independently owned and operated, has terminated the two employees involved and is working with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on this investigation."

It's Not Just Coffee, It's Starbucks, and Burger King

It starts as summer ends, Burger King will start serving the Starbucks-owned brand Seattle's Best Coffee.
The cup of brew replaces Burger King's BK Joe coffee  and will be available by September.

Mary Boltz Chapman, editor in chief of industry trade magazine Chain Leader says, "You can't do breakfast anymore without a decent cup of coffee."
Expect to pay between $1 to $2.79, depending on size for a cup of coffee, hot or iced, along with optional vanilla or mocha flavor and whipped topping.

For Starbucks, the coffee chain is developing a strategy for the Seattle's Best Coffee chain that it acquired seven years ago.
"Together, with Burger King, we are making premium coffee far more accessible than it has ever been," says Michelle Gass, president of Seattle's Best.

Burger King Testing Energy-Producing Speed Bump

We are all in favor of coming up with innovated ways to produce energy, we just have "green" fatigue, so when we heard all this chatter about Burger King going green we lost enthusiasm.
But we took a second look and realized this Burger King thing was a smart technology to create energy, it's the brainchild of a company called New Energy Technologies.

The firm has developed a prototype device it’s now testing at a Burger King in Hillside, New Jersey.

The “Motion Power Energy Harvester” is designed to capture kinetic energy from vehicles that would otherwise be lost when drivers hit the brakes going through the drive-through.

It looks like a flat speed bump with long pedals across the top that press down when tires roll over them. That force turns gears inside, generating 2000 watts of electricity.

The goal is to collect enough energy and distributing it in a cost-effective way.

The forces behid this project say, “If this is multiplied by ten times the length and we have 100,000 or 150,000 cars a year the device will pay back in less than two years.”

Company President Meetesh Patel says Motion Power devices could be effectively used in any number of high traffic areas including shopping centers, intersections, rest areas, border crossings, and toll plazas but admits any use on public roads would require negotiations with local governments and highway departments.

“We’re creating a new industry and if we’re first to market with this thing we definitely will be at the top of the wave,” Patel says.

No one is suggesting the device in the drive-thru lane would provide enough power to run the restaurant, including franchise owner Drew Paterno, but he jumped at the offer to install the prototype at his location on Route 22, and says he’d consider placing an order for a dozen of them.

“If the thing works and it does what we think it will do," Drew says, “we’d be interested in installing it in all our locations.”

That won’t be possible until the Motion Power device is ready for market, which Patel says could happen sometime next year.

Burger King, What's Wrong With You?

Burger King, what's wrong with you?

Burger King has set off an international incident, not once but twice. In Spain, it's over their Texican Whopper commercials (WATCH) with a small crime fighting luchador wearing a Mexican flag. And if that wasn't enough, there were some Burger Kings in Iberia that were displaying posters that show the Hindu goddess Lakshmi sitting smack-tab on top of a meat sandwich with the tag "La marienda es sagrada" which means something like, "A snack that's sacred."

Maybe Burger King forgot Hindus forbids the eating of beef of any kind.
The Hindu American Foundation has demanded Burger King to pull the ads and asked for an apology.
So Burger King issued the exact same apology twice, (the Mexican ad and this one) it goes like this: "Burger King Corp. values and respects all of its guests as well as the communities we serve. This in-store advertisement was running to support a limited-time only local promotion for three restaurants in Spain and was not intended to offend anyone. Out of respect for the Hindu community, the in-store advertisement has been removed from the restaurants."
Here's the Mexican ad apology: "Burger King Corp. values and respects all of its guests as well as the countries and communities we serve..." Blah, blah, blah,

And here's some copy from the 7 inch sandwich disaster, "Fill your desire for something long, juicy and flame-grilled with the NEW BK SUPER SEVEN INCHER." Yikes!
