Attack on Wendy's employee

A group of teenage girls got into a fight at a Wendy's in Queens Village, leaving one of the employees seriously injured.
The fight was captured on a phone, and in the video, you can see the cashier get pounded to the ground by teenage girls.
A Wendy's employee said that it started with one girl attacking the employee and a large group of them jumped in and started punching her.
The employee said it all began when the group started fighting and throwing food. She was behind the counter when her co-worker walked over to try and stop them.
The employee who was attacked suffered a concussion and now is unable unable to work.

Two of the teen girls have been identified by school officials as students at Martin van Buren High School, which is just down the block.

The Wendy's franchise director, Louis Meyer, released a statement that read in part: "This vicious attack on our female employee was shocking and uncalled for. We are cooperating with the police in their investigation and our security camera data and anything else they request will be provided to them."

At least these stupid girls recorded the evidence against them, on a cell phone.

Wendy's robber calls to complain about the amount he stole

We take you to Atlanta where police say a man who robbed a Wendy's restaurant with a gun became so mad angry over the amount of money he stole he called the restaurant twice to complain about it.

He had walked up to the drive-through window of an Atlanta Wendy’s wearing a ski mask and holding a gun.

He demanded the cash drawer, grabbed it and ran off.

But he later called the restaurant to complain about the amount of cash he had just stolen.

In one call he said that “next time there better be more than $586.”

He called again, with the same complaint.

Wendy's drive through brawl

It was a brawl with burgers, fries, punches and chairs thrown during a food rage fight between customers and employees at Wendy's in Kalamazoo.
Four customers in the Wendy's drive-thru said their order was wrong, and that's all it takes it seems.
As a result the customers threw drinks, hamburgers and fries at the employee inside.
That's when the employee then threw food back at the car, hitting it with a drink, ketchup and fries.
Two of the people from the car went inside and began fighting with employees.
Eventually the police showed up and two of the customers were arrested on charges of assault.
We aren't too sure what this means, but employees blamed the fight on a "communication breakdown."

Wendy's and the Drive-Thru Taser Incident

Have you heard the one about Wendy's and the stun gun?
Angry because the drive-thru workers at a Wendy's messed up her order, a Florida woman and her friend took the Wendy's by storm and tried to tase an employee with a stun gun.

Pictured above are the mean women, Reid (left) and Bryant (right)
Melanese Reid, 20  became really pissed off after the Wendy's employees didn't give her enough mustard and mayonnaise packets.
Reid tried to slap the employee at the drive up window, but she was able to deflect her hand.
At that point, Reid and Bryant got out of their their red PT Cruiser and went inside the Wendy's.
While inside, Reid, armed with a fashionable pink Cheetah brand stun gun, chased the employee around the kitchen area of the restaurant with the Taser turned on.
Meanwhile, Bryant "cheered her friend [Reid] on while continuing the orginal argument using lots of bad words and discriminatory language."\
After the employee managed to get away, the women took off when the Wendy's manager said that she was calling police.
But all's well that ends well, Reid and Bryant were arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and yes, that is a felony.
The stun gun was recovered from one of the women's purses.
These two women had difficulty getting their story straight.
While Reid denied ever going inside Wendy's, Bryant contradicted her buddy's story.
Bryant told cops that Reid entered the restaurant and threatened the worker with the hand held stun gun.

The Sun Sets on Wendy's in Japan

With too much competition from McDonald's, Wendy’s has decided to close all 71 of its Japanese restaurants on Jan. 1, 2010.
Zensho, the Japanese company that runs Wendy’s Japan, decided not to renew its contract with Wendy’s, which runs out at the end of 2009.

UPDATE
Wendy's opened its first restaurant in Singapore this week, one of 35 new locations the company plans to build in the Asian nation within the next 10 years.
The opening comes less than one week after Wendy's announced it will temporarily leave Japan as it seeks a new partner to develop stores there.

Piece of Wendy's Spoon Found in Man's Lung

Not to be outdone by McDonald's drive through gifts, remember the gun and a bag of pot?
John Manley,  recently discovered that a piece of a plastic spoon was the source of his two years of ill health, coughing, vomiting and pain.
Having surgery last week to remove part of a plastic spoon from his lung, it was discovered that it wasn't just any old plastic spoon; it came from the fast-food chain Wendy's, with the restaurant logo clearly visible on the handle. Take that McDonald's!
"It must have been in the food or drink," Manley said.
He figures he inhaled the chunk of plastic when he took a large swallow of soda at a fast food restaurant.
"I'm a gulper," he told the paper. "I gulp stuff. I always have."
Manley finally convinced doctors to run a scope on his lungs.
They were flabbergasted to discover the jagged chunk of plastic with writing on it.
His doctor found the spoon after looking into his lungs with an endoscope, a medical instrument with a long, thin tube containing a light and a video camera.
"He explained that there was an object down there, and it had writing on it," Manley said. "It spelled out 'Wendy's' on one side and 'hamburgers' on the other, and I was a little floored."
So were his relatives, who, when he telephoned them with the news, were eating ... at Wendy's.
