School fined for accidentally selling soda

A Utah high school is being punished by the government.

Davis High School in the Salt Lake City area is having to pay over a whopping $15,000 in fines to the Feds because it accidentally sold soda through a vending machine during lunch.

Federal law requires the school to turn off its soda machines during the lunch period, which is 47 minutes a day. Davis High school did turn off the machines in the lunch room, however, the school didn‘t realize that there was another machine in the school bookstore that wasn’t being turned off, that's when the food police realized it and the school was hit with a $0.75 fine per student for the duration of the offense.

As a result, the school is going to cut money to fine arts programs to make up the cost.

School Girl sells $3 Pot Brownies out of backpack

There is this 8th grade girl who had a brisk business selling marijuana-laced brownies to about 20 other students.     

The incident happened at Intermediate School 208 in a suburban section of Queens, New York.   

A girl was selling the brownies for $3 each out of her backpack, and even though the kids may have been high, nobody got sick.

It was one of the students that complained to a school official.

 

Department of Education spokeswoman Margie Feinberg called the incident "troubling'' and said children who knowingly ate the brownies will have to face a disciplinary hearing.      

Police were brought in and discovered a small bag of marijuana in a school bathroom, but no one has been arrested.
