3 dead in IHOP shooting Carson City, Nevada

UPDATE: A third National Guard member has died from injuries suffered in a shooting rampage that took place at a Nevada IHOP restaurant, according to the Carson City, Nev. sheriff. The shooting spree has now left five people dead, including the shooter, and left seven wounded.

In Carson City, Nevada, Eduardo Sencion, 32 used a rifle to open fire at an IHOP restaurant on Tuesday, killing two National Guard members, another person and himself during the morning breakfast hour.

Six people were wounded in the attack. The suspect, who hasn't been identified, apparently acted alone and died at a hospital in Reno.

Witnesses said the gunman pulled up in a blue minivan around 9 a.m. and shot a man on a motorcycle, then walked inside the restaurant and started shooting. He then walked outside and fires shots at a barbecue restaurant and an H&R Block in the strip mall, and a casino across the street.

The IHOP Brawl

Here we go again... another brawl, this time at the International House of pancakes.

All the excitement took place in South Carolina early Saturday at an International House of Pancakes.

It's really the same old story, a bunch of losers punching and wrestling each other as tables are turned over, trashing the place.
There's a scene where this woman takes a coffee pot and hits another woman in the head while she is being pinned to the table.
Then we see a man swinging a cane at the woman who was struck with the coffee pot. The woman in return throws a chair at the guy with the swinging cane.
The sheriffs report says management doesn't want to press charges...if that's true they need new management.
It's all you could ask for and more...

IHOP SUES IHOP

We find ourselves in Kansas City, Mo. where the International House of Pancakes is suing a another kind of IHOP, the International House of Prayer.
The breakfast IHOP says the IHOP church is taking advantage of the restaurant chain's famous name and letters.
The pancake IHOP dished up the lawsuit to the Kansas City-based house of prayer last week in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.
The restaurant  IHOP, which trademarked the initials in 1973, claims infringement and trademark dilution as the grounds for their lawsuit.

The restaurant's spokesman says the acronym infringement is becoming a problem because the church is expanding and some branches are serving food.
They decided to formerly press charges because the church refused repeated requests to stop using the trademark.

"We are compelled to protect the 350 small-business owners who own IHOP franchises and the IHOP good name that's been around for 52 years," the spokesperson said.

Gary Hecker, a well-known intellectual rights attorney in Los Angeles, said he believes the courts will side with the restaurant chains because the prominence of the acronym may give IHOP the "right to protect itself even well outside the scope of selling pancakes."
However, Gary Hooper, a former Houston attorney who until recently served as the church mission's chief financial officer, said he didn't think the lawsuit had any legal basis.
