Salads are great, but we really want burgers and fries

No matter what Michelle Obama has been saying for a year and a half about obesity, it seems few are listening.
We know all about the restaurants listing calories on their menus, and we are well aware that people insist they want to eat healthy.
This post may upset some, but the truth is, when we eat out, we order burgers, fries, tacos, shakes, sodas, pizza and some form of fried chicken.

IHOP may offer a Simple & Fit menu with yogurt and fruit bowls, but its top seller is still the breakfast sampler of eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hash browns and pancakes.

And regardless of what politicians say and do, only 11 percent of parents ordered apple slices as an alternative to fries in McDonald’s Happy Meals.

Remember all the big efforts in New York forcing chain restaurants to start listing calories on menus?
Well, only 15 percent of diners ordered lower-calorie items.

Because people just aren't interested, many chains have scaled back their efforts to feature healthy foods.

Ever seen the long lines at In & Out Burger and Popeye's chicken? There's a reason for that.

The Cheesecake Factory, which introduced a “Skinnylicious” menu with entrees 590 calories or less, says while those foods have also done well, the sales of the rich, decadent cheesecakes are up too.

Here's something else, the "healthier" foods are usually among the most expensive items on the menu.
Perhaps, instead of taxing "fat foods," how about lowering the price of the so called "healthier" choices?

French Fry Rage at McDonald's

Here's another heart warming story about a man and a woman who went into McDonald's expecting a large order of fries.
Instead they got an order of small french fries by mistake,  so they did what any of us would do, they threw coins from the change at the McDonald's cashiers. (Please note, we don't throw coins, we keep them)
Christina Galipeau, 22, and Eugene Jackson, 33, pleaded innocent to assault charges at their arraignment in Quincy District Court.
Galipeau was released on her own recognizance and ordered a $1,000 bail for Jackson, who was wanted on two warrants issued in other courts in drug and assault cases.
The court ordered Galipeau and Jackson to stay out of the McDonald’s and to make no contact with the cashiers.
When police were called at 11:23 p.m., Jackson, Galipeau and her sister had already left in their car.
A cashier who took their order told police that when Galipeau complained of getting the wrong size fries, she gave her a large fries and handed her change.
The women exchanged words, and that's when Galipeau threw the change at her, hitting her in the face.
Jackson picked up a two-foot tall cone from the mopped floor and hurled it at the cashier and another employee, a 54-year-old woman.
In the parking lot, Jackson  threw another plastic cone at the second cashier, who had run outside to get their license plate number.
The second cashier was struck in the face, leaving a cut on her nose.
The first cashier and Galipeau fought and pulled each other’s hair before all was said and done.
Quincy police traced the car to Galipeau’s home and officers arrived as the trio pulled up to the house.
Jackson was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (that would be the plastic cone) and giving false information to a police officer.
Galipeau was charged with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (kicking someone when down).
