Moscow has a new face on soda, it's none other than Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
That's right kids, the Stalin drinks are part of a very special group of beverages being released to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the World War II battle of Stalingrad.
The head of the beverage plant said he saw nothing wrong with the Stalin drinks, although Stalin, by almost every account, is seen as a ruthless tyrant responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people.
An estimated 30 million people died as a result of Stalinist repressions and widespread famine in the 1930s and 40s.
He is still popular by many Russians, however, mainly because of his role in leading the Soviet Union to victory against Nazi Germany.
The three soft drinks in the series feature portraits of Stalin, Marshal Gregory Zhukov, and Marshal Konstantin Rokossovksy, and are flanked with the phrase “Our cause is right – We have triumphed.”
